An English Rose
with Italian Roots

Carly’s father is English, and her mother is Anglo-Italian. Her maternal family are from the town of Galatina in the province of Lecce, in the Apulia region of south-east Italy. Many family members still live there.

On her summer holidays Carly polished her craft by singing in the local fiestas all around the region. Some things never change and in a heartfelt tribute to her Italian roots she has established her own music festival called ‘Carly Paoli and Friends.’ These take place in Galatina, Puglia, the birthplace of her grandfather, and means she has come truly full circle.

Her Italian heritage, fluency with the language, and relatability means that Carly is ranked as the top soprano in Italy. Alongside the success of ‘Ave Maria’, she has also bought her artistry to bear on timeless operatic classics such as ‘Casta Diva’, which has all of the technical brilliance of the aria but given a modern twist.

Carly is known to have a passion for fashion and uses it as another tool in her complete mastery of her art beautifully illustrating her performances and heightening the emotion.
